The challenge
The challenge was to create simple, clean printable label designs for snack pouches that contained dehydrated fruits and vegetables for PAF that they could print in-house.
My role
As the graphic designer, I sketched the fruit and vegetables for Natalie Gilson to paint in watercolour. Then I collaborated with her on the layout design of the snack labels.

I sketched fresh beets for the beet snack pack label design.

I sketched fresh Brussels sprouts for the Brussels sprouts snack pack label design.

I sketched three variations of sliced bell peppers to find the right balance between fresh slices and dried strips for the snack pack label design.

I presented the label design with the three vegetable sketches for reference before passing it off to be painted in watercolour.

The solution
The solution was to create a layout design that could fit the varying product data like name, colour, imagery, and nutritional facts. For the artwork, I gathered reference imagery to create the desired composition. After, I sketched ingredients to provide drawings for client review and to be passed on for watercolour painting.

The pepper strips snack pack label design with watercolour painting.

I applied the layout to the first three snack pack labels.

I created labels for sample-size packs of the broccoli, blueberry and tomato snacks.

All six labels follow the same base theme with slight variations to distinguish each product from the others and focus on the main ingredients.
